Afghani Ministry of Defense announced that at least 25 Taliban militants were killed in an airstrike conducted in the country's eastern Nangarhar province.

    The ministry said in a statement that the airstrike was carried out in Sherzad district of Nangarhar, targeting a group of the Taliban militants.

    Nangarhar is among the relatively peaceful provinces in eastern Afghanistan but the anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban insurgents and loyalists of ISIS group are actively operating in a number of its districts.
