Yemeni Vice-President Abd Rabu Mansour Hady met Friday with The Advisor to The United Nations Secretary General Jamal bin Omar and the delegation accompanying him, who are currently visiting Yemen. The two discussed the early Yemeni Presidential elections which will be held on February 21st. Hady discussed the preparations and the mechanisms for implementing the GCC initiative. The initiative calls for early elections, designating Mohammed Salem to form a National Accord Government. Al Hady expressed his hope that the implemented mechanisms will lead Yemen out of the instability it is currently going through. For his part , Omar said that the Security Council and the international community is looking for a peaceful settlement to the political crisis in Yemen. He also said the current preparations will help achieve the GCC initiative. He called on cooperation between all involved to reach the goal of early elections and ultimately a democratic Yemen.
