An official of People\'s Committees in Abyan province has escaped an assassination attempt carried out by elements belonging to Al-Qaeda. The Police Directorate in the province pointed out today that gunmen, who were on board a car, opened fire on the convoy of the President of the People\'s Committees Walid Mohammed Al-Hamash, and fled.
