Ramallah – Nihad Al Taweel
The Bedeir family in the West Bank have blamed Palestinian security forces for arresting their son, ?recently freed prisoner Islamboli Riad Bedeir and his younger brother al-Qassam Riad Bedeir.? The brothers were arrested after Palestinian Intelligence agents stormed a perfume shop owned ?by the family in Tulkarem in the West Bank.? The family told Arab Today that Islamboli was arrested after creating a perfume he named “Morsi” ?in solidarity with the ousted Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi, adding that the agents seized a ?large quantity of perfumes.? The two brothers arrested by the security bodies are the sons of Sheikh Riad Bedeir, one of ?the Palestinian leaders who was killed in Jenin when the Israelis ?stormed the refugee camp. The family called on security authorities to release their sons, while the incident has ?has prompted reactions among many Palestinian activists on social networking websites.? Palestinian officials have not issued any comment about the incident, ?however in previous situations they have emphasised that freedom of opinion and expression are guaranteed to all under Palestinian law.
