Vatican has praised efforts exerted by Egypt to fight terrorism and extremism, combat religious intolerance and spread the tolerant thought.

This came during a meeting held between Egypt's Ambassador to Vatican Hatem Saif al Nasr and Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi.

The meeting tackled means of enhancing cooperation between Egypt and Vatican in the field of media.

The Egyptian diplomat praised Vatican for its neutral stance while broadcasting Egypt news.

He invited Vatican journalists to visit Egypt and holy places in the country.
