U.S. special forces have been involved in an operation in Somalia against militant group al Shabaab, media here reported Saturday evening. Media reports reaching here said U.S. Navy SEALS launched an operation in southern Somalia Saturday, targeting a leader of al Shabaab, which is responsible for the recent attack at the Westgate Shopping Mall in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi. The terrorist attack left 67 people dead. According to U.S. media, another military operation also took place on Saturday in the Libyan capital Tripoli, aiming at a senior al Qaeda figure wanted by the U.S. for the alleged role in the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. No official details have been available.
