U.S. senator John McCain on Friday said America has \"no position\" on the territorial disputes between Beijing and Tokyo, backtracking from a controversial comment he made two days earlier in which he sided with Japan on the issue. McCain made the remarks during a meeting in Beijing with State Councilor Yang Jiechi earlier in the day, China\'s foreign ministry said in a statement. Two days prior to the meeting, the U.S. senator expressed his support for Japan over the disputed islands, known as Diaoyu in China and Senkaku in Japan.
