The director of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency has been in Seoul for annual consultations with South Korean officials, local media reported Thursday. Lt. Gen. Ronald L. Burgess, Jr., who arrived here on Tuesday, visited the Defense Intelligence Command and was briefed on issues related to the Democratic People\'s Republic of Korea (DPRK), according to Yonhap News Agency. He also reportedly held meetings with South Korean military intelligence officials and U.S. military officials including Gen. James D. Thurman, commander of some 28,500 U.S. troops based here, to discuss the DPRK and the scheduled 2015 transfer of wartime operational command from the United States to South Korea. Burgess is to leave Seoul on Thursday.
