A day after House Speaker John Boehner declined to meet with representatives from the Russian government intent on discussing Syria, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid also declined a similar request Thursday. A planned delegation from Moscow aimed to lobby Congress in favor of a vote against US military action in Syria. A spokesman for the Russian embassy said his government is \"disappointed\" by Boehner and Reid\'s decisions. Russian President Vladimir Putin was not convinced by the evidence presented by the Obama administration claiming that the Syrian regime used chemical weapons, but said he might consider supporting military strikes if the United Nations was on board, and a stronger case was made against Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.
