Uruguayan President Jose Mujica called for unity among Latin American countries when meeting with his Mexican counterpart Felipe Calderon here on Wednesday. A challenge for the future is the union of weak nations, Mujica said, adding that Latin America should have a voice to defend its common interests and have a bigger presence on the international stage. President Calderon said his meeting with Mujica strengthened bilateral ties and new projects based on shared values would be launched after the meeting. \"I know that people from Mexico and Uruguay will work together, as always, to open new ways of freedom and justice for our peoples,\" Calderon said. Mujica and his eight-person delegation landed in the western Mexican city of Guadalajara on Tuesday for a two-day official visit.
