Uganda's Minister of Energy and Mineral Development Irene Muloni

Uganda's Minister of Energy and Mineral Development Irene Muloni has expressed thanks for the Egyptian government and people in recognition of Egypt's efforts to boost bilateral relations in all domains.

In statements to MENA correspondent in Kampala, Muloni underlined the powerful and constructive aid provided by Egypt for Ugandan people, especially at the technical and technological levels.

The Ugandan minister, in this regard, praised the strenuous efforts exerted by Cairo to train Ugandan scientific cadres as well as tens of power engineers who receive annual training in Egypt.

Lauding the warm reception she was given during her visit to Egypt last August, Muloni said she regards Egypt as her "second homeland" where she does not feel strange.

The Ugandan minister pointed out that during her visit, she held meetings with the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum in addition to a number of Egyptian investors in the private sector.

Egyptian power companies are of international standard and their products are fit for export, Muloni said, noting that she has urged these companies to visit Uganda.
