Turkey has sent three fighter jets over the Syrian border after clashes between Kurdish militants and al-Qaida-affiliated radical groups broke out nearby, Turkish Today \'s Zaman reported Monday. Three F-16 jets took off from the southeastern Turkish province of Diyarbakir on Monday to scout the situation near the Turkish- Syrian border, said the report. Recently, clashes between the Kurdish Democratic Union Party militants and al-Nusra Front fighters intensified near the border, bringing Turkey to high alert about any spillover into its border cities. The Syrian town of Ras al-Ain, across from Turkey\'s Ceylanpinar district in Sanliurfa, has been deeply trapped in firefight between the two sides in recent days.
