Tunisia denied on Thursday media reports on the presence of US military bases in the country that could be used to target Libyan territories.

Spokesman for the Tunisian Defense Ministry Belhassen Oueslati described these reports as 'baseless'.

US troops in Tunisia are mainly tasked with training Tunisian servicemen on how to use border defense systems as part of ongoing efforts to fight terrorism, the spokesman said.
