Foreign Minister of Tajikistan in a message to his Iranian counterpart Ali-Akbar Salehi congratulated the 20th anniversary of the establishment of ties between the two countries. According to Tajikistan’s Foreign Ministry website, Hamrokhon Zarifi referred to Iran as a brotherly country. He said profound cultural and historical relations between the Iranian and Tajik nations have helped Tajikistan develop and progress in the past 20 years following its independence. Zarifi further said the two countries are determined to develop bilateral economic, social and political cooperation. Expressing his satisfaction with the excellent level of Tehran-Dushanbe bilateral ties, the Tajik FM said 140 agreements have been inked by the two sides on expansion of cooperation in different fields.
