Seoul - Yonhap
South Korea on Wednesday launched a task force to restart a fighter jet project after it turned down Boeing\'s F-15 Silent Eagle, the sole candidate that came within the 8.3 trillion won (US$7.2 billion) budget, over skepticism over its stealth functions. Three candidates -- Boeing\'s F-35 SE, Lockheed Martin\'s F-35 and EADS\' Eurofighter -- vied for the deal to deliver 60 jets over five years starting 2017, but the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) decided to reset the program at the last minute over criticism that it put too much focus on price tags.
