President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his African counterparts convened an in-camera meeting Monday to elect a new chairman of the AU commission, his deputy and commissioners.

The new chairman should assume the top post for four years, succeeding Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.

Eight commissioners will be elected during the session.
