President Abdel Fattah El Sisi

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed Wednesday the importance of pursuing endeavors to rally the international support and efforts aimed at fighting terrorism.

Sisi’s remarks came during a meeting attended by the prime minister, ministers of defense, interior, foreign affairs, and justice, along with Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) governor, and directors of intelligence and the Administrative Control Authority, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.

The president said that Cairo should benefit from its chairmanship to the UNSC’s committee on terror fight and push forward adopting a comprehensive strategy for uprooting extremism by all the international community.

The strategy should include all the development, cultural, and intellectual perspectives along with the security and military approach, Sisi added.

The meeting also discussed the significance of providing the necessary support to the national committee for crises and disasters management, which was recently established under the cabinet, Youssed added.

It also touched on the economic conditions, as CBE governor reviewed the latest fundamental data after the latest economic decisions, especially the rating of Fitch, which reported that the economic outlook for Egypt was “stable,” the spokesman said.
