President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted Egypt’s keenness on preserving security and stability in eastern Asia region especially the Korean peninsula.

This came during his meeting here on Sunday morning with South Korean President Park Geun-hye in which a number of officials from both countries have also attended, Presidency Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.

During the meeting, Sisi also underlined Egypt’s support to all efforts aiming to settling disputes in the Korean peninsula via peaceful means.

Park welcomed the meeting with Sisi for the second time after his visit to Seoul last March.

Sisi also welcomed the visit held by the Korean trade minister to Cairo last May in which he was accompanied by a number of Korean businessmen.

The president also asserted Egyptian government’s keenness to surpass all obstacles facing Korean companies investing in Egypt.

Meanwhile, Park said her country is keen on fostering ties with Egypt in all fields, stressing that the Korean government encourages the national companies to invest in Egypt.

The meeting also tackled ways of benefiting from the Korean expertise in a number of fields including education, management and administration of free economic zones.

They also discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
