Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Friday called his US counterpart John Kerry, said the foreign ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Abu Zeid.

In the phone call, Shoukry and Kerry discussed bilateral relations between Egypt and the United States and ways of strengthening them. 

Developments in Palestine, Libya and Syria were also discussed in the phone call, Abu Zeid added. 

The two diplomats addressed the UK's decision to leave the European Union (EU) and its consequences, the spokesman said.
