Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Chairman of Bahrain Olympic Committee, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today received the Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Shigeki Sumi, and reviewed the course of relations between Bahrain and Japan, ways of development and issues of common interest, particularly in the youth and sports areas. Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed, in line with the directives of HM the King, the continued support of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister, and the high interest of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, the Kingdom of Bahrain seeks development of the solid bilateral relations in many areas to open wider prospects for fruitful cooperation, adding the Kingdom of Bahrain highly appreciates the visit of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan that has led to increase the size of the constructive cooperation between the two countries in various fields. He pointed the historic visits to Japan made by HM the King and HRH Crown Prince as well as Japanese Premier’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, have given a strong push towards strengthening relations and open wider horizons of joint cooperation in all fields. He lauded the memorandums of understanding signed by Bahrain and Japan that will contribute to supporting and strengthening the aspects of bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture, medical, security, and benefit from the advanced Japanese experiences. Japanese ambassador extended thanks and appreciation to HM the king for the warm reception the Japanese Prime Minister received during his visit to Bahrain that confirmed the depth of the historical relations between the two countries, and pointed the Kingdom of Bahrain lives in a state of prosperity and a model to follow in the region, thanks to Bahrain’s wise leadership, and expressed his country’s aspiration to establish a full partnership with the Kingdom of Bahrain.
