New York - Arab Today
Saudi Arabia has urged the UN to provide immediate protection and humanitarian aid to civilians and children in Aleppo and other parts of war-wracked Syria.
The appeal came from Abdullah Al-Mouallimi, permanent representative of the Kingdom to the UN, during a meeting called by the US, France, Britain, New Zealand and the Ukraine here.
He said the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) should facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to avoid forced displacement of families, SPA reported.
“We condemn in the strongest terms the continuing violations by the Syrian regime and its allies against civilians, especially women and children. They are being killed and their cities destroyed by deliberately targeting schools, hospitals and medical personnel by the regime.” said Al-Mouallimi.
The ambassador condemned the Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces and the Hezbollah terrorist militias, who are aiding the Syrian regime in its brutal campaign of bloodshed and mayhem in that country.
