Leader of Russia’s Eurasia Movement Party Alexander Dugin said the US claims against Iran’s nuclear program is based on no logic but inspirited by its apparent sense of animosity against Tehran. In an exclusive interview with IRNA on Tuesday, he said the US was merely indulging in use of force to address Iran’s nuclear program and never acknowledges Iran’s nuclear rights. He said that, based on the Non-Proliferation Treaty, Iran was entitled to certain clearly-defined rights to conduct nuclear activities for peaceful purposes which includes uranium enrichment as well. He believed Iran has never deviated from international regulations in this regard in the past years. The senior Russian expert further noted that the US manners and decisions regarding Iran’s nuclear program is more like that of a hooligan rather than a rational person acting according diplomatic norms. However, he added, Washington is used to behaving out of international norms most of the time. Outlining the process of Iran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors, he said the watchdog body has had plenty of opportunities to test the authenticity of the information provided by Iran on its nuclear program. He stressed that the US was pursuing political objectivess by raising allegations against Iran, believing the failure of Washington’s policies in the Middle East region was the main factor behind such claims. Dugin said Washington was trying to cover up its defeats in the region especially in the oil-rich Iraq by putting pressures on Iran. He further referred to public movements in a number of Arab countries which he said are inspired by Iran’s Islamic Revolution as another element contributing to the declining US power in the Mideast region. He believed the US internal economic crises, too, played a role in intensification of US hostility towards Iran. The Russian analyst stressed that all these pressures will have no effect on Iran’s firm will to achieve progress and expressed confidence that the future will witness the dying power of the US in the world especially in the Middle East.
