    Trump will become the 45th US president after securing a surprise victory over Hillary Clinton. He is due to meet current White House incumbent Barack Obama for talks aimed at ensuring a smooth transition. 

    According to the (CNN), police estimated as many as 5,000 people were at a protest in New York outside Trump Tower, chanting slogans against what he said about immigrants, Muslims and other groups.

    Despite US President Barack Obama's call for cooperation with Donald Trump, protesters gathered in several cities across the country.
