Prime Minister receives US congressional aids delegation

Prime Minister, Abdullah Ensour briefed a visiting delegation of US congressional aids, on reforms being carried out by Jordan in the political, economic and social fields to continue the development process.

Ensour told the delegation that Jordan is preparing to hold parliamentary elections, noting that the Kingdom has been holding elections since the establishment of the state.

The prime minister also reviewed the current in the Middle East and its impact on Jordan, adding that the Kingdom has received waves of refugees over the year from Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Libya and Syria.

He spoke about the pressure placed by 1.3 million Syrian refugees on the Kingdom's educational and health sectors.

Ensour voiced appreciation of the US support to Jordan, pointing to the continued cooperation between the two countries in the fight against terrorism.
