President of European Parliament (EP) Martin Schulz was accepted by the leader of Catholic world Pope Francis in his palace in Vatican. The meeting, which was realized in Vatican Palace for half an hour, was closed to the press and no announcement was made about the content. According to the Italian news agency ANSA, Pope spoke Spanish while Schulz spoke German with the accompany of a translator. It was stated that Schulz invited the spiritual leader to European Parliament and presented him a photograph album in the memory of Ioannes Paulus II\'s visit to European Parliament 25 years ago. During his departure from Vatican, Martin Schulz replied the questions of press members and said that he talked to Pope on the prior problems of the EU and the tragedy in Lampedusa occupied the agenda.
