A top political society has strongly condemned the car explosion outside a popular park in Budaiya. The National Unity Assembly(NUA) said the bombing near the park that is visited by families is an attempt to further divide the Bahrain society. ”This confirms that terrorists take no consideration or respect to the sacredness, nor the greatness or holiness of the month of Ramadan,” said a NUA spokesman. “They are persistent on continuing their criminal acts and confirms that they don’t want stability for the nation nor the citizens.” The spokesman added that the terror acts were desperate attempts by those who insist on commiting terror acts against citizens and residents. “It also confirms that they are not interested to reach an agreement through national dialogue. “ They aim to reach their goal by dividing the nation through sectarian tension and takeover of the national unity as their counterparts have done in the brotherly neighbouring Iraq.” Elaborating further, the spokesman said Bahrainis have lived in harmony and respect towards each other for centuries. “These criminal acts must not discourage us to move forward in the project of reform that is led by His Majesty the King. The reform process, the rights of the nation and the citizens won’t stop despite their criminal campaigns. The Northern Governorate police general director said the vehicle was located adjacent to a fence surrounding a garden in Budaiya utilized by families and children. Initial investigation revealed that two gas cylinders had been placed inside the car but only one of them exploded. On Friday, Bahrain police raided an ammunition warehouse in Bilad Al Qadeem and confiscated several homemade bombs, weapons and 150 Molotov Cocktails. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) condemned on Sunday a car-bomb explosion that occurred in Bahrain, affirming its consolidation with Bahrain against that terrorist act. \" This criminal act aims to destabilize the security of Bahrain,\" UAE Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan said in a press statement, quoted by the UAE state news agency, WAM. Furthermore, Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed asserted that Bahrain\'s security and stability are his country\'s top priorities, adding that the UAE stands by its allies in the Kingdom under all measures it takes against these terrorist acts The British Chargé d’Affairs, Russell Dixon also condemned the violence that took place during the weekend. “In particular, I was shocked to hear about the car bombing that was detonated in a park in Budaiya during Iftar yesterday evening.’ “The holy month of Ramadan should be a time for peace and reconciliation. I urge all political, religious, community and human rights leaders to unequivocally condemn violence.”
