Police have targeted 25 percent of the total number of criminal cases for prosecution in court to reduce the crime under the National Key Result Areas (NKRA). Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said the effectivity and quality of investigation must be upgraded to ensure that more offenders are charged in court. \"The leadership encourages officers and men to gain knowledge, either formal or otherwise, in meeting challenges in the era of globalisation,\" he told reporters after closing Forensic Science Diploma Progrmame of Royal Malaysian Police College, Cheras here. At the ceremony, 38 graduates including from Malaysia Armed Forces (ATM) and Royal Brunei Police attended the course held with the collaboration of University of Malaya (UM). Khalid said since launched in 2001, some 352 students had graduated from Forensic Science Diploma Programme, thus helped to upgrade the quality of investigation.
