Police in Nassau County, east of New York City, were hunting on Wednesday for a man who shot two people in an office building in East Garden City, local authorities said. The shooting happened at 646 East Street around 10:00 a.m. when the gunman, described as an Asian male, walked into the building, pulled out a gun and shot two people before fleeing the scene in a white SUV, authorities said. The conditions of the victims were not immediately available. Police locked down the nearby Roosevelt Field Mall, several blocks away from the shooting scene, and swept through the building for the suspect. It was not clear if authorities held any information confirming the perpetrator was in the mall. Schools in the area were also put on lockdown, but classes are not disrupted. It is reported the suspect is a former employee of the business.
