The President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has appointed Mohammad Sarwar as the Governor of Punjab Province, said an official here Thursday. The Presidential spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the President appointed Sarwar on a recommendation by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Punjab is the most developed and prosperous province of Pakistan with approximately 55 percent of the country\'s total population. Punjab has the largest economy in Pakistan, contributing most to the national GDP.
