The Prime Minister of Pakistan chaired All Party Conference (APC) that took place at the Premier House on Monday, attended by political leaders of Pakistan to formulate the national security policy. The APC started at 11:00 am (local time) to consult all political parties to improve the law and order situation of the country and formulate a national security policy. Earlier on Sunday the Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, said that the political and military leadership would decide a national policy to tackle terrorism at the APC. The Chief of Army Staff, Ashfaque Pervaiz Kayani and DG ISI, Lt. General Zaheerul Islam also attends the conference and would give a briefing to the political leaders on the overall law and order situation in the country. The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chief, Imran Khan who earlier denied attending the conference also accepted the invitation. The Information Minister, Pervez Rashid said that main objective of All Parties Conference (APC) was to formulate a collective national strategy to eradicate terrorism and maintaining peace in the country. The head of a religious political party Jamiat Ullema e Islam (JUI-F), Maulana Fazal ur Rehman organized the last APC in the tenure of previous government to devise a comprehensive strategy for overcoming militancy. Pakistan\'s government has extended an offer to militants to hold talks, and has released seven Afghan Taliban prisoners on Saturday to improve ties with its neighbouring country Afghanistan. The process of initiating and carrying dialogues with militants would also be discussed in the conference.
