Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday visited Turkey\'s low cost housing project Toki, with a view to establishing similar housing schemes in Pakistan during his three day official visit to Turkey. According to an official press release, the Turkish Minister for Housing Erdogan Bayraktar briefed the Prime Minister about the housing project that provides houses to low income families at affordable prices. The Minister informed that under this project, Turkey\'s slum areas had been developed into beautiful residential schemes and also expressed the interest of Turkish government to invest in Pakistan\'s housing sector. PM Nawaz said that Pakistan could learn from the experience of Turkey, the way it constructed houses for lower and middle classes of society, said the press release. He invited the Turkish businessmen to visit Pakistan and invest in the housing sector. The Prime Minister mentioned his three meetings with Turkish housing investors in Pakistan and said this sector had the vast potential for investment for the growing population of 180 million. The visit to Turkey is the second official foreign visit of Pakistani Prime Minister since he assumed the office. The Pakistani PM aimed his visit at putting in place institutional mechanisms, which will provide a strong platform for further cementing economic ties.
