At least six people were killed including three policemen and two others were wounded in an operation launched against the armed criminals in south western Pakistani city of Karachi on Thursday. According to police, three police officials killed during the operation included a senior official, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Qasim Ghauri and two Sub Inspectors and injured two others. Police launched an operation against the suspected militants in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area near safari park of Karachi city. Over 300 policemen took part in the operation against the culprits involved in many criminal activities and were hiding in the adjoining suburban area of Hussain Hazara and Muhammadi Goth area of the metropolitan. The spokesman for the provincial police of Sindh, SSP East Imran Shaukat told that three attackers were also killed during the operation while huge cache of arms and ammunition was also seized from their possession. Rangers were also called to take control of the situation and police have cordoned off the area and search operation was underway by closing all the exit points. The wounded policemen were shifted to the nearby hospital.
