Nigerian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Khadija Abba on Wednesday hailed Egypt for supporting Abuja in fighting terrorism.
Abba made the remarks in a celebration held by the Egyptian Embassy in Abuja to mark the sixty-third anniversary of the July 23, 1952 revolution.
Top Nigerian officials as well as a large number of ambassadors and diplomats have attended the celebration.
Cairo and Abuja share common interests since 1962, the Nigerian minister said.
Egyptian Ambassador in Abuja Ashraf Salama, for his part, hailed the two countries’ relations.
He praised the strategy adopted by Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari in fighting terrorism.
Salama stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries
