Major General Nidal Abu Dukhan has been sworn in as commander of the Palestinian National Security Forces, replacing Thiab al-Ali. Palestinian national forces spokesman Bilal Abu Hamid said Abu Dukhan was sworn in on Monday during a ceremony at the forces headquarters in Ramallah. The incoming commander, who has served as a military intelligence chief, said he would do his utmost to protect the accomplishments achieved by the forces. “We will build on these achievements with more success and we will build a professional army which will be able to protect our national gains, and guarantee that Palestinian citizens live in dignity.”
