Egyptian International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr

Egyptian International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr held a series of meetings on the sidelines of African Development Bank (AFDB) conference in the Zambian capital Lusaka.

The minister met with AFDB vice president 
in the presence of Dr Samy Zaghloul, Egypt's permanent representative at the bank.

Nasr thanked the bank for pursuing support for Egypt's economic and social development as well as the bank approval of the first tranche of finance for state budget which is estimated at 500 million dollars.

The minister stressed the importance of delivering the second tranche of the finance especially after the completion of the political road map and the election of the House of Representatives.

For his part, the vice president of the Bank said the bank has been looking forward to offering support for the Egyptian government in light of its support to development programs.

The two sides agreed to send a mission from the bank on June 29 to start work on the delivery of the second tranche.

Upon the directives of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the minister requested the bank's contribution to finance the government program on developing the slum areas.

Minister Nasr also met the official of the loans and aid at Malawi's Ministry of Finance who thanked Egypt and President Sisi for the aid Egypt sends to his country.

Nasr arrived here to take part in the annual meeting of the AFDB which kicked off on Monday.
