A new poll indicated that six in ten Americans want to replace every single member of the U.S. Congress if they could, local media reported Friday. This poll was conducted by NBC News and Wall Street Journal during Oct.7-9, as federal government shutdown drags into its second week. According to the poll, 70 percent and 51 percent of Americans respectively blame the Republicans in Congress and President Barack Obama for putting their own political agenda ahead of what is good for the country. The poll also showed that seven in ten Americans disapprove the job that Republicans are doing, which is 11 percentage points more than that of the Democrats. Asking about the economy in the next 12 months, only 17 percent of Americans are optimistic, while 42 percent think it will get worse, 38 percent think it will remain the same. Obama and 20 House Republicans, led by U.S. House Speaker John Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, held the first serious talk between the two sides on Thursday since the federal government shutdown. But the meeting ended with no decision made on how to end the government shutdown or raise the country\'s debt limit.
