Lebanese President Michel Suleiman met here today with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for Middle East Policy Dr. Matthew Spence to review relations of cooperation between the two countries in general and the defence ministries in particular. A statement issued by the Lebanese President information office said the US official renewed his country's firm position towards Lebanon and its continued support to the Lebanese army to enable it play its national role in maintaining civil peace and stability. He also pointed out to his country's attention for finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis in the light of preparation currently under way for the Geneva II Conference on Syria.
