Vice-president of Kuwait Voluntary Work Center Ahmad Al-Marshad has won the prestigious Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work in recognition of his efforts to promote voluntary work in his society. Al-Marshad has received the award in ceremony organized by the Bahraini Good Word Society in cooperation with the Arab Union for Voluntary, an offshoot of the Cairo-based Arab League. \"The honoring is a great incentive to exert more efforts to spread voluntary work and to sever our societies,\" Al-Marshad told KUNA Sunday. He added that Kuwaitis were pioneers in voluntary work and had a very rich experience in the various voluntary activities to service their society. Kuwait Voluntary Work Center is carrying out voluntary environmental protection, medical awareness and campaigns. For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors Good Word Society Mohammad Bu Hazza said that the honoring is meant to motivate Arab volunteers to offer more to their societies as well as to increase people awareness about volunteer work. He pointed out that the scope of the award will be widened in the coming edition to include international figures to be nominated the UN Volunteers.
