Ministry of defense announced Monday demise of Abdullah Zamel Al-Shimmiri, a recruit in Ali Al-Sabah Military Academy. The deceased was rushed to Al-Sabah Hospital near the academy but he passed away before reaching the hospital, the ministry said in a statement. Medical examination did not show any bruises but there were signs of sunstroke, it added.a Al-Shimmiri joined the academy last Thursday and had passed all medical tests which showed he was fit for military duty, said the ministry.
