Secretary General of the National Assembly (parliament) Allam Al-Kandari stressed on the importance of the GCC parliamentary meetings to close links of joint action in various fields and sectors.Al-Kandari arrived to Jeddah late on Friday, heading a delegation of legislators to partake in the fifth meeting of the GCC legislative speakers, scheduled to kick off later on Saturday.He told Kuwait News Agency that the previous meetings have had significant positive effects on the level of joint training and exchange of experiences and information, as well as at the level of coordinating GCC states\' positions at international parliamentary forums, in addition to raising efficiency of working in the secretariats of the council.Al-Kandari announced Kuwait would request formation of a sub-committee of the GCC parliaments to evaluate work of the regular meetings of the heads of the GCC legislative assemblies.He said that during the meeting, the participants would discuss a plan to set up a unified GCC parliamentary information network, possibility to dispatch a delegation of GCC legislatures to headquarters of US Congress and European Parliament for interaction at this level.Furthermore, on the participation of the General Secretariat of Kuwait\'s parliament at the meeting, Al-Kandari said that it was due to the dissolution of the parliament.
