Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zeljko Komsic in his speech at the General Debate of 68th Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York, said that the Bosnian authorities are willing to share experiences in post-conflict peace-building with others, adding that the stance of Bosnia and Herzegovina is that it is necessary to take concrete steps to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons around the world. \"We express our sincere concern about the violence that has led to a further impairment of the humanitarian crisis and caused unacceptable suffering of the Syrian population\", said Komsic and called on all parties of the conflict to fulfill their obligations in accordance with international instruments of humanitarian and human law. \"Solving the crisis in the Middle East is one of the most important priorities of the World Organisation (WO). We believe that everything should be done in order to create a positive atmosphere and come to a comprehensive peace. We expect from all parties to refrain from any hasty moves, and to start an important dialogue\", said Komsic. He reminded that Bosnia and Herzegovina participates in the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission in Afghanistan as well as in the United Nations (UN) police missions in Liberia , South Sudan and Cyprus. Komsic praised UN activities through the New Partnership for Africa\'s Development (NEPAD) which make efforts to put Africa on a path of stable and sustainable development, particularly the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) . He added that the UN for more than six decades of existence went through tough challenges but that it always was and still is the only guider to a better future. \"We have to make the world organization even stronger and more efficient because it is certainly the only one who can help the progress and preservation of our planet. On this journey we must return to the basic values of human rights, the equality of all people and world peace which are the foundations of the UN\", said Komsic. He said he hopes to see a positive development of the conditions that would ensure the activation of Membership Action Plan (MAP) and further integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into the security structures of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). Komsic stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina is in its final phase of the negotiations to the accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). He added that the regional and subregional cooperation is of great importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina. \"The development of bilateral relations with all neighboring countries and the region is focused on several key areas: the Euro-Atlantic integration, the development of good neighborly relations, promotion of economic cooperation, strengthening the regional cooperation and solving the outstanding issues through constructive approach.\" Komsic concluded that economic or political interests should not be an obstacle to a global consensus.
