Chinese President Xi Jinping urged Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to improve bilateral relations Thursday on the sidelines of the G20 summit in St. Petersburg, Russia.Spokesman for the Japanese government Yoshihedy Soga said a press conference in Tokyo today that Abe and Xi Jinping stressed importance to develop relations between the two countries and return to the previous strategic relations for the interest of both sides before the escalation of tensions over the disputed islands last year.The two leaders held a brief closed-door meeting in St. Petersburg before the G20 meeting, the spokesman added.
