Troops tending to a wounded soldier after a military vehicle came under fire along the Israeli

An soldier was shot and lightly wounded by cross-border fire from Lebanon near the town of Metula in northern Israel on Wednesday.

According to an initial Israeli army investigation, a passing vehicle on the Lebanese side of the border opened fire on a group of soldiers as they were patrolling near the Reches Ramim area on the border fence, the JPost reported on Wednesday.

The soldiers returned fire, hitting the vehicle. The wounded soldier was transported to hospital for treatment.
