An Israeli military force, firing from machine guns, advanced into Palestinian-controlled regions just east of the refugee camp of Al-Buraij in center of Gaza on Tuesday, an official spokesman said. A 48-year-old Palestinian was wounded with the gunfire of the assaulting force, said the spokesman of the higher committee for emergency in Gaza, Adham Abu Silmiah, in remarks to KUNA. The man, suffering from medium cuts, was taken to hospital. The troops, backed by three tanks and accompanied by four bulldozers, moved into the Palestinian regions on the fringes of the camp. They advanced under cover of a hail of gunfire, with aircraft flying overhead -- presumed to be pilotless planes, equipped with rocket launchers. Israel has developed reconnaissance aircraft turning the planes into deadly offensive machines that can fire missiles, with remote control devices. Security sources said the troops, after advancing, demolished several buildings and ravaged cultivated fields.
