Israel has approved construction of 878 housing units in Jewish settlements in occupied West Bank. Many of the 878 housing units are in essence retroactive approval for homes planned and in some cases even partially constructed without the requisite permits, such as the case of 559 housing units in the settlement of Talmon and 38 in the settlement of Kochav Yaakov. Discussions on the plans was postponed following US Secretary of State John Kerry\'s announcement last month that diplomatic negotiations with the Palestinians would resume, but was brought back to the table in recent days, Ha\'aretz reported.
