Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki departed on Sunday to the United States in response to an invitation of US President Barack Obama to discuss bilateral relations and ways of developing them. A source at the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said that al-Maliki headed to the United States in an official visit to discuss prospects of cooperation and ways to develop bilateral relations. Al-Maliki will discuss with US officials the strategic cooperation agreement signed between the two countries, the US withdrawal and the file of the US military personnel who will train Iraqi security forces post-2011, the source added.
