Iran’s President Mahmud Ahmadinejad and his Sudanese counterpart Omar Hassan al-Bashir here on Monday emphasized the necessity of unity of the Islamic nations and governments to thwart conspiracies and provocations by the bullying powers.Iranian and Sudanese presidents also reviewed the latest international, regional and bilateral issues and called for the active presence of Tehran and Khartoum in the regional developments. President Ahmadinejad also described two countries ties as friendly and special, urging for developing economic cooperation in all arenas. Praising Sudan\'s support for the Islamic nations and the cause of Palestine in particular, the Iranian president said that Khartoum has stood firm against pressures and stands by the aspirations of Islamic Ummah. Later in the day, the Iranian officials are to hold talks with the top Sudanese officials in the presence of the two presidents. After participating in the 66th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York and a stopover visit to Mauritania, Iran’s President arrived in Khartoum, Sudan, for a one-long visit. President Ahmadinejad is due to return home Monday afternoon.
