Ministers of foreign affairs of Islamic Republic of Iran Ali-Akbar Salehi and People\'\'s Democratic Republic of Algeria Murad Medelci exchanged last night viewpoints on prevailing situation in Syria. During the phone conversation, Salehi referred to the significant status of Syria in the region, stressing that negotiation is necessary aimed at preparing the ground for solving the problem in Syria based on refraining from foreign interference, and implementation of reforms there, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Information and Media Head Office said. Salehi further stressed the importance of blocking the path for foreign interference. He meanwhile announced Iran\'\'s readiness for taking any necessary steps aimed at achieving that end. The Algerian Foreign Minister, too, agreeing with his Iranian counterpart on Syria\'\'s significant regional role, stressed the need for regional consultations aimed at regional crisis solving, including in Syria, Iran\'\'s news agency (IRNA) reported. Salehi and Medelci also reviewed the significant ongoing international and regional developments, and exchanged views on good bilateral relations and ways for further improvement of them.
