Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh announced today that he will meet his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly\'s 68th session. In a statement he gave before leaving for New York Singh said \"during my visit to New York, I look forward to bilateral meetings with the leaders of some of our neighbouring countries, including Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan.\" Tension exacerbated between Indian and Pakistan after more than 10 people were killed since the first of august fire exchange incidents on the border control line between the Indian and Pakistani parts of Kashmir. Five Indian soldiers were also killed early in august in an ambush which Indian accused the Pakistani army of laying but Islamabad denied the charge.
