India\'s lower house of parliament passes a 20-billion-dollar food security bill that aims to subsidize food grain for two-thirds of the country\'s 1.2-billion population, dpa reported. After an eight-and-a-half-hour debate, the bill and suggested amendments are passed by a voice vote. It now goes to the upper house, Rajya Sabha, for approval.
